Just a quick note as I do not have much time to wrote and organize all of this.
I rode out to Te Anau, west of where the ride started. The ride started in Cromwell wich is a hilly desert environment, and ended up in the lakes not too far from the Tasman Sea. A few detours brought me to some fantastic riding, a good introduction to the Kiwi's polite traffic manners. Great scenery and the roads were in excellent condition.
I picked up bike number 2, a brand new BMW GS1250

But as you can see from the other side there is a steep muddy path to bypass the deep bit.

The next water crossing was deep with boulders and I was alone with a brand new BMW with no crash protection. If I had fallen, the bike might still be there. Discretion is the better part of valor, so I chose to turn around.

Oh Yeah, the Kiwi Ladies. I guess it is sheep sheering season. Kinda funny looking all naked and all.
